Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, not really sure where to ask it.
Anyway, I have in my possesion a wooden framed (looking at the back of it) carved mirror. My SO has pointed out that the gold doesn't go with the other frames in the room.
So has asked if I can strip it back to bare wood and finish in a similar fashion to the other frames. ( This part is not a problem)
How the heck do I go about removing the gold finish as I can't sand it due to the carving. I was thinking of using heat and coarse wire wool?
Or perhaps some generic paint remover from wickes/screwfix or similar.
Thanks.
