He's from RP and he does indeed say it has a brake.
I still can't find any other reference to the BS400 having one so I need to work on my google fu and @conrad might find it worthwhile taking the cover off the fan end of his motor to see if there's a mechanical brake hiding back there.
It was interesting to watch the next Record Power video about the BS400 that youtube offered up.
Demonstrator was shoving a full 12" section of log through the saw. He was making a rip cut yet using a 6tpi blade on 12" stock, the rear blade guide bearings squealing joyfully as he leant on them. How not to show off your product !
