One of these was in the Bucket o' Tools I received this evening. It is painted red, and seems old (ie battered) - but these seem to still be made, in blue.

Why is it A151 instead of 0151? How can I find out how old it is? It seems well made as well as well-used.

At the time your was made, they did two versions. The blue ones (O series) were cast iron, and the red ones (A series) were malleable iron. Some time after they stopped the O series they went to blue for the A series (have a look in your Planecraft  )

Cheers

Yeah - so red ones are old and good. Which is why I look out for them :)
