Hi

does anyone know of any wood reclamation centres in Herefordshire, Monmouthshire or Gwent? I've recently moved from Bristol which had the excellent Bristol Wood Recycling Centre ( http://www.bwrp.org.uk/ and I'd recommend to any Bristolian woodworker ) and I miss it.

I am searching so if I find one I'll post the details

Thanks

Toby

Its hard enough finding reliable timber sources round here to be honest.

You may also be aware of Pugh&Co the auctioneers. Their next timber sale is this Saturday. No catalogue as yet and the quality has dropped of late but I might pop along if anything looks interesting.

Cheers

thanks very much, didn't know about Pugh's, will go check it out.

I'm beginning to think that the Newport reclamation yard is the closest.

im near newport only place i know is Newport reclamation . bit poor for timber around here

Pontrilas sawmills in the wilds west of Herford used to do reclamation, and the last time I was over that way, there were a lot of people advertising reclaimed oak and the like in the Hereford Times. Might be worth getting a copy?

thanks very much for that. I'm just up the road from the sawmill, its my favourite location, but I don't think they do any reclaimed stuff anymore. I will be going there in the next day or so and will ask. Thanks for the pointer.
