Hi,
following your advices, finally I used this device for silver soldering.

Simple, I added some material on the top of the Y lever and then I file for shaping it (sorry for the bad pic)

The new lever works well whit a tapered Isaac Greaves iron (4 mm at cutting edge)

The plane is now a very good tool
