Hi folks,

I have a Hinari PAC9100C/FC air conditioner unit which features a dehumidifier mode and it is about this function that I have a question. When setting it to ‘Dry’ mode, the unit will not turn on unless the water collection tub is removed from the unit, which means I have to use the drainage hose instead to transfer the water collected into another container. This is extremely inconvenient and there is no mention of this in the manual.
Does this represent an issue with my unit or is it correct that it will only work as a dehumidifier with the water collector removed?

Cheers!

V.

Some water collectors have a float operated switch to stop the m/c when full, is it there,in correct position, stuck etc.

V,
I don't know about that unit but my dehumidifier collects around 7 litres of water a day in damp weather. I suspect your unit's water collection thingy may be on the small side and expects use of a hose to get rid of the amount of water condensed when running all the time?

I wish I had got a larger unit with a hose option, then I could lead it out through a wall and stop worrying about forgetting to empty it!

Sounds like it may be an undocumented 'feature' then - it does indeed have a float switch, as of course it collects moisture when it's in AirCon mode. Fair enough, I guess as long as it's working I can't complain too loudly! :)

Thanks folks!
