Problems using a polishing bonnet on a Metabo 450

Hi does anyone use a polishing bonnet on their R.O. sander - I have a Metabo 450 and when I polish with a bonnet it dos not seem to turn very much, no problem with standard discs only the bonnet.

I used to have a bosch R.O. and it was fine until it just died so upgraded to the metabo - I also noticed that the speed is quite slow and the speed adjustment does not work.

Any help would be great.
