Could the forum give me an idea of how much it should cost to get planer blades and saw blades sharpened?

What size are the blades you have?

I think that generally speaking, you're looking at roughly £12 (+postage) for three 250mm HSS blades, to give you some idea...

If you can build up a good relationship with your local saw doctor though, you may be able to get them done for slightly less...! :)

I pay £6 per pair for my Kity 260mm blades. And saw blades are £8 each or 25pp tooth, whichever is greater, but I'm in the Highlands with only one saw doctor. He is very busy though with there being quite a few timber yards.

I pay about £9 for 3 12inch blades for my sedgwick to be sharpened. Saw blades are usually priced per tooth expect about £6 for a rip blade and upto £15 for a large fine tooth blade.

My saw doctor calls once a week to pick up items to be sharpened and deliver sharpened items. This costs £1.50 a delivery.

It greatly depends on the size and quantity of your blades. Mine are currently with Dragon Blades, as I was suspicious of the quality I got from Bedford Saw. I am interest in the comparison. It could be that the problem was/is my tables.
