Predictable and utterly arrogant remarks from you.
Not at all. Just trying to help you to understand something which a lot of people don't seem to get - you are not alone!
But being abusive is as much use as banging your head against the wall!

Like I said "Predictable and utterly arrogant remarks".

Evidences a complete inability to accept that others may hold a different view to yourself.

I don’t read it as such and think there’s more than a grain of truth in what he says.

The argument (for me) starts to feel a bit like the one about gifts. Diehards at one end argue Starmer did nothing wrong and their opposing diehards that he should be put in the Tower for accepting bribes. Those in the middle think he made a mistake and should show contrition before moving on. (I’m in the middle)
The gift issue is pretty trivial IMHO. Starmer is a beginner in politics and fairly naive.
Labour did what they had to do to make sure they got into power.
They did nothing at all. Could almost imagine they were trying not to get into power, but purging the party of socialists while they had the chance. Hence very low Labour turnout and getting in by default as the tory vote plunged even lower
It would have been easy to put caveats on their election promises such as “we assume the pay review bodies have not recommended more than x” but that would have confused the message. That’s politics unfortunately and as he says the Conservatives would have done the same even if it suits them now to claim they wouldn’t.
It would have been even easier to continue the Corbyn/McDonnell agenda, which produced best and second best turnout for Labour this century, by a large margin.

Nice try Jacob - I’m not biting 🤣

.....

I accept that people hold different views, could hardly avoid noticing!
But on this your view is simply mistaken. Sorry if that is a shock!
It is widely accepted, well established, general knowledge, that MPs are elected as "representatives" and not mere "delegates"

Come on you lot, back on topic please. There’s nothing like a thread killer than endless, meaningless ping pong nonsense of the last 7/8 posts.

So mega Trump fan Florida AG Pam Bondi is new pick for AG. Will no doubt be confirmed. There were some iffy going ons with her and the failed Trump university a few years but…….
Disbarred, skint ex lawyer ex Mercedes SL owner Giuliani? Finished, no further use to Trump, officially anyway.

A name I expected to have cropped up by now is Rudy Giuliani. The last I heard he was having his assets seized. It will be interesting to see if Trump throws him a lifeline.
His daughter did some interviews during the election, she was saying as much as she loves him, her father is fully sucked into the MAGA cult and can't be reasoned with.

Pam Bondi: Key proponent of Trump's false 2020 election claims set to head justice department

So a person who supported insurrection, lies falsehoods will be the country's top law enforcement official.........what could possibly go wrong
As I mentioned earlier:

From Politico:

In 2016, news emerged that Trump paid a $2,500 fine because his foundation improperly donated $25,000 to Bondi’s political election committee in 2013 before her office opted not to pursue a fraud investigation into Trump University. Trump eventually paid $25 million to settle fraud complaints against the now-defunct university.
Bondi said she was unaware of Trump University complaints at the time and that the contribution had nothing to do with her office’s decision not to pursue the case. Trump has said he admired Bondi for never backing away from him amid the controversy.

And then there was a bit of dognapping.......

Bondi was involved in a custody battle with Hurricane Katrina victims over a St. Bernard she adopted in 2005 after the dog was separated from his family during the storm.
The family had been trying to find the dog and Bondi refused to return him. She accused the family of neglecting the animal, which was denied.
The family sued, and the dispute lasted 16 months until the two sides settled before trial. Bondi returned the dog to the family with food and medication.

That along with Kristi Noem, who admitted to shooting a puppy she didn't like, as Homeland Security Secretary.

I may not always agree with him and he’s big enough to stick up for himself but I find he gives some thought to what he posts rather than just parrots a view he’s read or heard elsewhere.

IMO the tendency to immediately label someone simply because they hold a different view is a big part of the tribalism problem that holds us back.

Just saying.

I agree - I see that there is thought and analysis going on in the background and i appreciate his input - regardless whether I agree or don't - and sometimes it is a persuading point of view (y)

Some really thoughtful posts and individuals on this site - and very satisfying to contribute to it.

Cruella de Vil is rumoured to be ready if Kennedy gets rejected …

I suppose Trump's people are somewhat self-selecting; in the sense that if you had any quantifiable level of morality whatsoever you wouldn't get within 100 yards of him. So it's really no surprise that they're all truly terrible human beings.

true , his cabinet was always going to be full of incompetents, nobody credible will work with him, they tried that last time, and most gave up in a matter of months. it is interesting how far down the bottom of the barrel he is scraping though.
