Potato blight

Any gardeners/allotmenteers on here?

Beware of potato blight. One evening last week I harvested some potatoes and everything looked green and healthy. Three days later I visited again and a fellow allotment holder said "You've got blight". Sure enough, about 50% of my potato plants were showing signs. It can strike very quickly.

Every tomato and potato on ours has been wiped out.

I dont 'do' dirt, but my missus came back with ALL her spuds on Saturday. She said she too had to dig them up due to blight.

Cut off plants immediately.

Spray next year

I cut all the stalks off my plants, and have left them in the ground, so far all the tubers lifted have been healthy, and delicious.
