Fantastic, after endless head banging, I have finally been able to post a pic.
I downloaded pixsizer from steve good's site, it took a fair bit of finding, eventually found in the videos section, but it was worth the hunt, it is truly simple, just one button to click, and the pic is made small enough to put onto his site and this one :D
if I can do it anyone can, and there is no weird 'extras' appearing on my computer, which usually happens when I try to download stuff

Please don't forget IPad users there is a free app called "AutoResize" reduces sizes at a click

Image resizer is free and brilliant http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/ it adds a menu so that you simply right click any image on your PC to resize it. :)

Scrimper.

Many thanks for posting that link, but I see it is for Windows versions, after (XP), so assume it does not work with (XP).

Do you think I will encounter any problems if I try to download it, not a problem if it does not work, or will not download, but I always have a fear of crashing my computer.

Take care.

Hey Chris,

People always fear that doing the littlest thing will bring their computer to a massive slump and crash out completely but really that is rare. If you downloaded a program and tried to install it, and it would not install onto your machine as your machine is not supported you will just get a "not supported" message or the equivalent. I'm a programmer by day so deal with computers constantly and it is surprising how many people live in fear of there PC and typically if something goes wrong it is something small and easily corrected.

At the end of the day if something went that wrong you can back up your data you want to keep (like photos or important documents) and just format it and install again, sure its a pain but not the end of the world.

Cheers
Mark

P.S
This link will take you through to one that will work with XP (its what the other one stated above was made after so users of non xp machines could still enjoy the program)

I have never been able to get my head round the process of including a photo. I know they have to be re-sized but I have an iMac and all the re-sizing apps I have seen seem to be for windows PCs. My camera takes pics at 14 million pixels. Any ideas anyone.

Every digital camera I have ever used had options for the size of photo. Try selecting something smaller on the camera and you could avoid the resizing issue. If your camera shows you how many more pictures you have room for, you will see that number go up as you decrease the size setting.

(On the other hand, the alternative method where you put your photos on an online photo storage site such as Photobucket, lets you upload at any size and adjusts what we see on the forum automatically.)
