I am still making the same boxes with the Japanese cedar construction waste; I am on box number ten. I do have a lot of offcuts from that project but like Steliz have difficulty in throwing them away.

So again, from the offcuts of the salvaged wood (reclaimed squared) I made a pencil box. Now I can save at least three minutes of the day where I wander around asking *where did I put it?...*

Yes its is a bit Mickey Mouse but it's all good practice.

An internal glazed door
Makes you wonder, I went to look at a job last week for 12 Oak wardrobe doors, all standard 2' 6" door sizes, client had already found some online at £66.00 each inc vat, with a discount of £50.00 on her first order I would have to be making one in an hour to even get close, even then the wood would cost more than that.

Jesus where? I need some standard doors and was debating making them myself

Reclaimed squared, working with off cuts from recycled material pieces. Henceforth I shall call these R2 pieces. Furthermore, if I can add a second dimension like model making, I will call these R2D2 projects.

Yesterday I made a little housing for some saw guides, which was also a little test model make for a distant future piece.

Beep, beep!

post script: @thetyreman , I love that handmirror!

I've just finished making a new router table insert for my old Elu 177 1600w router.
I've had the router table for over 20 odd years, but the original insert was a plastic/resin type of material and it had cracked & crazed over the years and the router therefore, had quite a bit of movement & wobble......So, I decided to make a new one from a bit of 8mm thick aluminium.

I had tried to buy an "off the shelf" insert but could never locate one that was the correct size to fit my router table, so this seemed to be the best option.

Original table and insert was from Charnwood and they couldn't help me.....

Table insert size was 235mm x 175mm.

Bit of kitchen remodeling for my best friend...

Before:

And after, using some doors my friend got from somewhere, so not entirely the same, but it looks good (we think):

Some final touches to apply, but my friend wants to do that himself

Cupboards are now double the depth, so much more practical.

I’m in the process of swapping vans & as it’s a completely different make I need to make new racking, I’d seen a thread about cheap medical systainers & found someone local selling them for £10 each which I figured was a bargain & ideal to base the new racking around.

The systainers are quite tall so I decided to make ply boxes to fit inside so I could easier access the gear at the bottom of the box, a mate cnc’d me the base of the boxes from a program someone posted on hear, after that it was just a case of cutting the sides to size & running some grooves in the bases.

I made 12 two for each systainer simply glued & pinned together

They fit nice & snuggly, I’ve added a simple dowel handle to lift the top box out.

The systainers are going to sit above the rear wheel arches so I made a start on a unit to hold them.

I’m trying to keep the weight down as much as possible so it’s made from 60x24mm redwood & ply, this is as far as I’ve got up to present

There’s more to do to get it finished but I think this will work well & eventually hold 4 systainers
