It shouldn't do!

Googles images for adwords are limited to a maximum size of 50kb and so it should not slow you down at all, unless you are on dial up!

I am broadband, I think it might be something to do with my officious virus program (bullguard) that doesn't like pop ups, or this one.

Ukworkshop has been playing me up all day, hanging about if you know what I mean.

I run Opera which has an automatic pop up blocker. I also have a party line (yes they still exist) and my modem runs at 33.6 kbps. I only have trouble when I am running too many windows open at the same time or am downloading something. (Sketch-up took me 4 1/2 hours the other day.)

This is a pop up :)

It appears that my broadband server (Virginmedia / blueyonder ) were having techincal difficulties yesterday, and were doing shaping(reducing uplad & download speeds).
Of course then there was so much traffic going into virgin complaints .

That's not a pop up, that's a banner ad - isn't it? Maybe if you turned on the lights on your desktop you wouldn't get all these problems, DW...

Cheers, Alf

Technically Alf is right, a popup appears in it's own little window or worse as a full screen window. The Anglian one is one of the banner ads that resumably helps fund the forum. It shouldn't slow anything down any more than the ones at the top of the index page

thanks Pete.

Dont tell the mac boys but I have got server troubles at the moment or some corruption.

Don't worry about them.....I use both and if I hd to have just one I'd choose the PC. Cheaper to buy, easier to maintain, easier to get software, hardware.......they are good to look at and a dream to use for graphics but generally a pain in the proverbial for everyday use. (IMHO)
