Dear all

I am looking to buy a high grade of plywood for a childrens toy project. What are the best grades/types of plywood to buy as there appears to be many varied panels on offer?
Where is the best place to buy them?

Thanks
Phil

spooky! This has been on my mind last couple of days. Edens do Finnish Birch which is S-Improved Face/BB. Not cheap £82.

For my project I want the edges to be exposed but can't find a rating which refers to the quality of the edges (plys). Also interested in the replies here.

seens as this thread is about ply can somebody tell me what the grades and qualitites are. If I need to order over the phone I don't want to be floundering and ordering the wrong thing.

cheers

The grades are explained on the bottom of the page in wizers link.

90% of the time the BB/BB Latvian Birch ply is suitable for exposed face/edges just the odd filled defect and a 2/3rds the cost of the S/BB its what I tend to use.

I second, third, fourth (whatever...) Birch faced. Sitting at my Birch faced ply desk typing this, admiring the edge... Used the same for a radiator cover too - lots of exposed edges after cutting numerous vertical holes in the front panel. All a good enough, completely splinter free, smooth finish for kids.
