Hi

The other half has asked me whether i 'could knock up' a pergola to go over a gravel path that leads onto the patio.
I'm looking to create an arch/ apex type effect and wondered if anybody could point me in the direction for some good plans.

Cheers

Hi,
I have just constructed a pergola some 35ft by 12 ft. I used the NYW plans from dear old Norm....the plans were excellent.

Only problem was that the uprights and major cross beams were to be made from 6inx6in timber 12ft long. When constructed as a frame this can weigh upto 300kg if wet.....try lifting four sets of these and positioning and concreting in.....thank god I have two large sons with muscles..and a big bowl of wheatabix.

Thanks for the heads up concerning the weight, where can I find the plans?

Cheers
