Okay - thanks for all the input. I appreciate now with the observations made by a few people and also by reading about that the 4 1/2 and the 5 are quite different beasts. The LV BU Jack looks good. I can see myself owning that and probably a 4 1/2 as well. I haven't made my mind up fully yet... however, I think I'll be going for a 4 1/2 to get a heavier smaller plane with a slightly longer sole. Of course once I've slipped down the slope further I think I'll be adding the BU Jack 
(and who knows after that).
