Been away all weekend at a wedding - managed to read the instructions during the church service though :lol:

SWMBO was a bit annoyed. She told my mate ( the Bishop of Hereford no less - I'm not lying!) afterwards. He was most interested, wants to see finished article.

By the way - page one or two: List of parts - last line: " set your marking guage to 30deg " :shock:

I dont have the instructions with me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that the instruction should have been "Set your angle gauge / bevel gauge to 30 Deg", not sure why it's in the list of parts though.

Isn't it weird how you don't see the mistakes in your own work until it's out there.

I thought I was beta testing this as I'm a bit slow on the uptake

Was scratching my head for about 30 mins yesterday after setting the gauge to 30 deg

I won't reveal what I paid in case Aled is bunging up his price :lol:

I will say I'm very happy with what I've received ( time will tell if I manage to turn it into scrap metal :roll: ) and consider it excellent value.

The kit has "got me past" the impossibly daunting bits of plane making and I'm now almost in my comfort zone.

Await with interest for Aled's next offering & will be at the front of the queue.

Some of the most sought-after and valuable planes are infill planes.

Just as Andy has pointed out, infill planes are indeed planes that have a metal shell, and are "stuffed" (yes that really is an infill plane term) with a hardwood, ranging from your more common Beech, all the way up to the really exotic stuff like Ebony and Walnut.

I'm not sure of the true origins of infill planes, but the more prolific names of yestertyear are Spiers and Norris. Just google these names, and you'll find a wealth of information.
