Im just looking at a Fobco online. I think it's ex school and had a motor swap to 2 phase. Looking at the limited pics, the motor plays says it 1425rpm and 250w.
We currently don't have a pillar drill at work and I don't have one at home so I have no comparison at the moment but 250w sounds a bit low. Any advice appreciated

Think about a cordless drill and they are not close to 250 watts so a pillar drill with adjustable pulley belts will deliver torque so don't worry about it. I assume you meant it was converted from three phase to single phase as two phase is not normal for motors, welding plant yes.

Sorry, I meant single phase.

Three posts.

Two phase in the first post.

A motor data plate that clearly and unambiguously says three phase in the second post.

Single phase in the third post.

It is good to cover all your bases.

Could you make a fourth post with a final answer please.

Chailatte,

I had a brain fart when I said 2 phase. Im old, what can I say.

For a bit of clarification. I spoke to the place selling after you pointed the plate said 3 phase (I didn't notice). Maybe it is the original plate, motor housing, etc. I really don't know anything about motors (as I've proved).

The seller informed me, it's been swapped to a 2, I mean single phase motor and I've seen a video of the drill running from a standard 3 pin plug.
Seller told me they had bought it as it is now so don't anything about the motor. So, the wattage and rpm could be different.

in a weird way, you have helped but the way you went about it was a bit mental. But thanks.
