hi there just downloaded adobe reader 8.1 and it came with a thing called adobe photo downloader, and some attendant adobe photo stuff.

question therefore does this make it any easier to post photos to the site, and if so what do we have to do.

no dave still haven't got my head round it properly

paul

A quick search on google reveals that photo downloader is an application which pops up when you connect your digital camera to your computer in order to transfer the files to the computer. So it probably won't help you with publishing them to the web. Most of the hits on the first set of google results are related to people wanting to _disable_ it because they find it annoying.

yes but you also get a photo shop starter edition, and that was what i was really interested in whether we can use that?

Photoshop will help you if you're wanting to modify the images in some way prior to posting them - resizing, rotating, etc... But MS Paint does those particular jobs just as well, and with a less confusing interface.

Which bit of posting photos are you struggling with?

still the basic concept of where to put them and then hang them on.

somethings i can do easily but other times i suffer computer brain fade

Apologies if this comes out patronising, but I'll start with the basics.

I'm assuming that you take photos with your digital camera, and then store them on your computer somewhere. In order for other people to be able to see those photos on the web, their computer has to ask another computer to send it to them. While it is possible that you could set your computer up to be the computer they ask for the pictures, in practise it's easier to copy them to a server online (upload). That way, even when your computer is turned off, they will still be able to get at those photos from the server you uploaded to.

There are a number of websites which allow you to upload your photos to their servers for free, and will give you back an address that that photo can then be downloaded at. Once you have this address, you can use it in a posting and it will be replaced with your picture when the posting is viewed.

So that's the basic concepts involved. Does this make Alf's step-by-step instructions easier to understand?

actually i know and understand what you have said, and even read alf's things but it is the attributing it to the site that causes me problems. :?

anyway will get it sorted soon. thanks

paul

its wierd, i can do the 3d drawings in design cad pretty easily now, but find sketch up difficult. :?

by attributing i mean linking it in the site. i will re read alfs post and see where i go from there.

Use photobucket you just right touch img and it copies your image and when you are in uikworkshop you just go to edit and paste.

Ring me 0one803fivefivefourtwo sixnine and I will talk you through it.

devon, will get some stuff together and get back to you.

however, more worrying, i moved through adobe photo download, and thought to try registering. then i noted that not only are you supposed to accept registering, but also allowing them to use your details in the us and wherever they want. are they bloody mad :?
