SWMBO is hardly text speak As a phrase it was certainly in H. Rider Haggard's 'SHE' before being appropriated by John Mortimer's Horace Rumpole. As an acronym it's up the with ham radio's YL and XYL .... Text speak generally has much more recent origins.
I agree about the "txt spk" but what really irks me if using an abbreviation, but he abbreviation has the same amount of letters, ergo taking as long to type, as the original. Example "ov" instead of "of"!!!! Really really bugs me!!!
