Just to add to cutting42 admirable explanation, you need a minimum of 3 disks all the same size for Raid 5. Advantage is if one dies none of the data is lost, just replace, and the system reconstitutes the data.

Japanese TV usually does an obsessively researched forecast, but I don't have a TV! If I spot the one for this year I'll PM you.
