Don't do that. I drop in there from time to time to watch you and Robin, and one or two others nit-picking at each other, amusingly for me and, seemingly pointlessly for you guys. I don't post there myself, can't be bothered, but the entertainment every now and then is worth the occasional visit.

When I think about it, I seldom post in this relatively uncontentious section of the forum either, but I don't think that's anyone's loss. Slainte.

Pretty certain it was broadcast; mostly because I didn't opt in for free earlier, and when I saw it had become paid-for only I mildly regretted it. However, for my sanity it's probably better that I didn't.

Not wholly pointless for me: I find it really interesting trying to tease out the facts for my own satisfaction, whilst being urged on by @selectortone and @RobinBHM !

Personally I think we should be able to talk politics like grown ups, the general veto is unhealthy and undemocratic.
Sex and religion don't seem to crop up often - maybe we are just past it!

I can see why the mods want it to be supporter only, and it's not likely to be revenue. If you are a paid up supporter and get kicked out, you are unlikely to pay up again under a new name to get back in. If it's free, you just come back with a new account. In fact someone could have 2 identities all along and argue with themselves to gain attention.
