Panel moving device

I regularly have to move largish panels. up to 6' tall and 12' long.

So a little while ago I produced this device.

Some times I need to move them across the yard.

On a windy day this can be exciting.

I can't quite figure out how to add some side support without turning it into a lorry.

Enough to stop the sheets getting blown off the support beam or one foot, two feet high supports?

That's very similar to my own invention, It wouldn't be easy for me to incorporate the locking device,
Of course I could spend the cash.

That might be the answer would afford some side support. A metal one could be left outside.

The panels are around 60mm thick

Enough to stop the sheets getting blown off the support beam although I suppose it would need a reasonably wide wheelbase otherwise the whole thing could tip.

Am I right in deducing, that yours is the deluxe self locking model as opposed to my bog standard one?

Yes, mine is self locking, and inspired by a Roy Underhill episode showing alternatives to a bench vise.
I built it specifically to transport 8 by 4 sheets of OSB for my shed build, which is 60 metres from delivery point, and is mostly gravel or long grass.
I have so far moved about 20 sheets of 11mm OSB, and about 8 sheets of 18mm. Once I've shifted the remaining 6 sheets of 18mm, the grandson can have the balance bike back.

O yes, I feel a bit of improvising coming on.

Increase the wheelbase and add a couple of triangular supports in line with the axles to hold the panel(s)

These have been available for some time, including the smaller commercial models which are effectively a single skateboard truck with a middle support. This version is closer to the designs above and a compromise in sheet support, a small one but a step up at least;

Personally I find the grab hooks more effective but can see the benefit of the above if the ground is reasonable and it's not windy.

Edit: Just to add, Dewalt do one with side support if you wanted to get ideas for further support;
