Hi all.
Thankyou for letting me join.
I'm Gary. (Gazbo) in sunny West Yorkshire.
Heavy engineering for 40+ years. Made repugnant in 2018.
Now in a supermarket job, but I have always dabbled in general DIY, and small woodwork projects for personal use. A bit more time nowadays -to do things in the garage. Started by renovating some old woodworking tools ( ongoing). Planes, hand drills etc. Have renovated grandads ancient little metal lathe which gets used now for small parts. Made a small own-design wood lathe from spare parts - which works great. Interested mainly in old handtool renovations etc, and maybe a little bit around wood turning.

Thanks Mike. Will do. ( there aren't too many.) It's a virtually "zero budget-go with what you've got" kind of thing. And it's on-going anyway. The metal lathe has taken nearly a year. Just nicely started on "me hand tooils" this spring. Some were rust-bags, some hand me downs. Some were " you're an engineer aren't you? - can ya mak use o' this?"
Er-indoors aint happy ! Dog wants to bite me now too ! Lol.

I'll post some pics as soon as allowed ( don't know how many posts I need to do before I can post pics though). Before joining this forum, I had'nt thought anyone would ever be interested in my knacklings. Hence I didn't take any "before" pics, only "afters".
