Yandles price for the new model BS300E is £700 . so at under a quarter of this it could be construed as reasonable. Subject, of course to condition

Thanks both, I've sent a message so hopefully it hasn't gone already. Its only been on a short while but these things tend to move fast.

Annoyingly I got given a Dewalt bandsaw recently but it had water damage and I think the windings in the motor are trashed. I got a quote for ~£200 for a rewind so sadly not worth repairing.

fingers crossed on this one.

I picked it up yesterday (literally - it was very heavy even with 2 of us).

It needs a bit of work to get it back up to full glory. The drive belt was trashed so I've got another coming soon but that was only £9 so not too bad.

Deck needs wirebrushing but its mostly light surface rust.

Doesn't have a rip fence, which is a shame. I'll probably look to make one, shouldn't be too hard. I've got the mitre slider though which is good.

It's missing the thrust guide. The clamp is still all there, so I'll need to make one of those. Shouldn't be too hard - I'm thinking 10mm bar with a 10mm bolt welded at the end so it's an L shape. I can then put a bearing on it and shim it left or right with washers to line up properly. The bearing will then be inline with the blade so will roll like it should.

Motor runs and sounds fine and all the wheels move smoothly, so I think all the bearings are good. Tyres look ok.

Most likely needs a new blade but thats a consumable anyway and about £15.

So all in should be around £175 and a little bit of work, if all goes well

Hi,

looking at a recordpower rpbs12 bandsaw which has come up locally for £150

Is that a good/reasonable price?

thanks
I believe it cost me £85 to change the tyres, wheel bearings, guide bearings, capacitor, blade and Bristol lever on my rpbs 14, so working on that if the whole lot needs doing it'll cost you £235.
