As mentioned on the other thread. Why don't we show off some of our shots ?

Here's a few from my recent weekend away in the Cotswolds. All taken with a Nikon D50 with a combination of the Kit 18-55mm lens and a nikon 70-300mm

would also welcome criticism.

Hi Tom,

Nice pictures - I would crop a bit more, bit like this:-

and

Also have a play with the colours, saturation and contrast etc

Wizers original framing for the bird shots is much better than the tight crops suggested. Losing the thing in the bottom left of the duck picture is a good idea though. Any subject that faces one direction in the picture should have some 'negative space' to look into.

There are some of my landscapes in this old thread ... https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ... hp?t=19524

And enough to bore you completely here - http://www.argand.co.uk/album/main.php?g2_itemId=918

Orion nebula (M42) no mount, no tracking, no telescope, just the 4x zoom on a Canon A630 P&S.

BugBear (happy that it's not just a point)

BSM - awesome pictures!! My D50 and both lenses are currently gathering dust on the shelf! Hopefully get around to doing something with them in the coming year.

Great thread Tom,

Here are some of mine I'm mainly into aviation and wildlife photography but will take other subjects as well.

Spinnacker tower Portsmouth, taken with a wide angle lens at about 17mm.

A group of Avocets taken earlier this year at a nature reserve not too far from me. Taken with 170-500mm zoom.

and finally Adonis Blue taken last year at a site in Gloucestershire, unfortunately the head in this is not as sharp as I would have liked but when the butterfly wingspan is only around 38mm, I'm quite happy with it overall.

All the above were taken with a Nikon D70.

Regards

Steve

There are some marvellous photographs here. A few would translate into scroll saw patterns.

And before anyone just 'takes' a photo and uses it, can I remind everyone that copyright rests with the person who took the photograph? You need their permission first.

Quite so - I'm always happy for ukw people to use my photos as the basis for scrollsaw or carving or whatever - so long as they have the courtesy to ask first.

with that in mind i thought i'd share this one - which ive always thought would translate well to a scrollsaw pattern but ive never had the time to do it justice

I'm currently a canon user - most of those were taken with a canon 20D (pystill rheadr was taken on a 300D) my most used lense is a sigma 170-500 while i also have sigma 10-20, tamron 90 macro, and a canon 28-135 IS (plus eos 30, 3, and 5 film bodies)

As I said on the other thread as my long lens is reaching the end of its natural life (after some very hard and demanding use) I'm thinking about swapping to nikon for the high iso performance - but i'm waiting to see whether canon get their act together in this respect first as replacing all those lenses and bodies wont be cheap

Some beautiful shots here guys. Come on don't be shy. Post your pics, they don't have to be arty. You can get great pics with point and shoot these days.

Here's a few more of mine
