Why is it that whenever I stick my fingers in a 4 jaw chuck turning at 3 and a half thousand revs per minute it always hurts .....and I seem to be surprised at the pain?

Photograph supplied on request...

Chris.

Scrums, I use my lathe often, I use saw more and when I see that saw blade spin  , you could loose something!!!! so I treat the lathe the same  . All I can say it couldn't have happened to a nicer person  . I don't believe that you took some pic's  . Your as bad as my brother when he lost 2/3 of a finger, he held his mobile phone (on video) up and filmed his bloody hand, and gave a running comnentry. I would have to hit the deck before I hit the deck. If you see what I mean. Anyway you are quite correct we never seen to learn that if I do that it will hurt.

Couple more times Chris and you'll convince yourself to keep your fingers out

Yep, a pic would be good... might just convince others that it isn't one of life's best ideas
