Hello,

I’ve just bought a Hammer B3 saw/spindle moulder combo second hand, and I’d like to know how to remove the sliding table. Access to my workshop is limited and taking the sliding table off is most likely the only way I can get it into the workshop. I’ve surfed the web for answers and checked out Marius Hornbergers videos, but I’m none the wiser.

Does anyone know how to remove (and replace) the slider?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I do!
There is a YouTube video that shows this - I will need to try to find it for you.

You can just remove the whole assembly (lock it first) ie the sliding part and the fixed part. To do this you slacken the nuts underneath the fixed part and then the whole thing slides off - the hex head of the bolts slide in the channels under the fixed part (this is how the height is adjusted)

To remove the sliding part separately first - basically this involves removing one of the end plates and some of the cap head screws in the fixed part. Than the whole thing slides off.

If you contact Felder they will send you the correct parts diagram for your particular machine - this I found invaluable.

I had exactly the same issue as you but also needed to completely disassemble and overhaul my B3.

I can send you my parts diagram which will no doubt be mostly relevant, but will depend on year and options etc.

Let me know any probs.

Cheers
