Hi , I am new to this malarky . I have a Coronet Major lathe and now I have cleaned it up a bit have found a couple of grease nipples in the motor unit . I have been using machine oil in the bearing for the chuck but am unsure what I should use in the motor . Anyone know what is recommended . The motor is very quiet so no urgency but I like to make sure when servicing.
Thanks Scott

i use wd40
not sure if its right or not

Not, WD40 is a water dispersant and surface preservative not intended for lubrication.

Motor bearings (ball bearings) need grease, not excessive amounts, you don't want it being thrown out into the motor internals.
Bob (9fingers) will probably have a common spec. to hand. I just use wheel bearing grease I have to hand.
