Woe is you. Scrap the TS and get yourself a guide rail/board and a good CS.

This is getting serious, I think you should use it and really think about which finger you need least (think carefully about this point) then one quick slip and it's off that's the worst bit over.

Now in sympathy the wife will feel so guilty I can see a Delta Unisaw coming your way!

Let us all know how it goes when you can type again...

saying that I (well work actually) have recently bought a dewalt rail and plunge saw , which i thought would be really good - however to my imense disapointment the rail wont stay still and keeps sliding off line , and is impossible to clamp down.

IMO the equivalent money would be better spent on a small tablesaw like the TS200 from axminster.

back on perrans initial problem, perhaps you could convert it into a router table ?

I've never used the Dewalt. But with Festool and EZ Smart, clamping is very simple and you cut right on the pencil line.

ive a feeling that either we are missing a bit or that i'm being thick as there doesnt seem anyway to clamp the rail down - beyond sticking g clamp on the far end then taking it off when the saw gets there.

I'll start a new thread on it so i dont hijack perrans.
