I am replacing the foam on my seat and bought an exercise mat with the intention of cutting it into squares and gluing them together. Foam one side and some sort of rubberised material the other side. any suggestions on what to glue the layers with, without dissolving the foam? The last time I replaced the foam, I bought a piece 4" thick for an exorbitant price and it lasted no time at all before it stopped supporting weight. Going to cover it with a pair of old jeans this time on someone's advice that it'll be longer lasting than any cloth I buy.

Apologies for the 'off topicness' but I am sure we all like to keep our favourite chair/stool going.

Martin.

How about (Copydex), don’t think that’s spelt correctly, but its close. #-o

Take care.

It's spelt correctly, Chris, and I think I have a tube of it somewhere.

I was just thinking about nipping to Aldi to buy a couple more of those mats for a fiver each. I tend to go through foam kneeling mats in no time in the garage, especially when I have any welding to do. I usually buy gardening ones, but cutting up one of those exercise mats will be much cheaper.

I have a block of Blue Foam that you use in sofa's, I could post that up to you if you want?

Or if you want give me an idea on dimensions and I'll rough cut a piece and post, you could then trim it to fit.
