The results are in....

Hi Nev,

Here are the results for the three entries -

1. Heatherw - Good shape with some interesting features. Also, the only entrant that followed the rules regarding photos!

2. Dennisk - Nicely turned and finished.

3. Melinda_dd - Good choice of wood and a well turned finial.

It's a shame there weren't more entries. I hope there are more next year!

Well done Heather, Dennis and Melinda for getting an entry in this month. Looks like its down to the wire between Heather and Dennis for the 2013 title - to be decided next month!

Well done to the winners , and thank you for entering the Challenge .It the only attachment I have to turning and all things wooden . I love seeing the photos and wondering if I could have done better .

The fact that the number of entries were low should not detract from the winners . I guarantee you if anyone had something they thought might have a chance they would have entered . Having said that there is no reason that an entry should not be posted . It gives you a benchmark for your own work and may even get you advice on how to Improve your work .

Thanks to Nev and the judge and once again thanks to the entrants .

Oooh, I wasn't expecting results so soon, although I suppose judging was hardly time consuming this month. Thanks Paul for judging (and for liking mine....) and Nev for organising, a shame there weren't more entries. I love looking at all the entries, especially when there are a lot of them.

It's always more difficult for me to enter if the last date doesn't fall on a weekend, I wonder if that's been the case with anyone else this month?

Well my excuse for not entering was thus....I took one look at the other entries and didn't want to embarrass myself with my poor effort.....I am even too embarrassed to put it on the tree now lol

Heh, thanks Kim, I've got my metal leaf but couldn't work out a way of getting it in there, plus it probably needs a smoother surface. Hence the paint. Who knows, maybe a gilded pepper grinder.......?

My main regret is that the only time I seem to get to the lathe these days is for the challenge. (My fault this month owing to obsession with bandsaw boxes. Might be over that now. Burnout)
