Hi all

Firstly a big thank you to Steve for organising the event. Well done Steve and Judith for opening up your home to inspection.

On a personal note it was really good to meet more members of UKW, particularly those from the deepest south who made the long journey to Nottingham, which is in the East of the MIDLANDS. (Sorry, private joke with Waka)

Due to the rain the event was held at the local Church hall and was followed with excellent food and liquid refreshment at the Maskery's.

The shock of the day must go to a shaving that came off one of Philly's planes. It wasn't worth measuring with a micrometer, as I don't think they make them that big. Hopefully, Charley will post the photo later.

Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed. It was an excellent day which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Safe journey home to all the travellers.

Cheers,
Neil

Yes it was a nice bash. Congrats to Steve for a splendid spread. Thanks also to all the attendees who provided excellent conversation, tips and banter. Nice to meet you all and I hope we meet again in the not to distant future.

PS. it was nice to see a real table saw and a not so tidy workshop

PPS. Steve, the grub was excellent and your matriarch still retains her quick wit

Thanks Steve!
Had a great time (although now suffering from Jet lag after the journey home  ) and a real pleasure to put faces to names. I talked 'til there was no time left - where did the time go?
Photo's to follow......

Oi! I'd tidied up!
:)

Thank you all who helped, and I think that was just about everyone, I've never seen a place cleared up so quickly. And thank you, too, to all those who brought stuff to show, and those who donated stuff to the sale, and bought it, for that matter. We raised over £100 for the Children's Home in Sierra Leone, and when we Gift Aid it, they will get more than that. BTW, Mission Direct, the charity involved, pays for its modest offices out of general giving, not out of money donated for specific projects, so when I say this is for St George's, it means St. George's will get every penny.

It was great to meet you all.

Cheers
Steve

Not in the black country then?

Thanks Steve for a very nicely organised event that made it a lovely day out.

Nice to meet up with some old friends, to put names to faces, play with some lovely hand-made planes and finally meet Lurker after 2 months of trying  (one of us is always busy)

Special thanks to your wife for putting up with so many of us traipsing around the house and providing all that lovely food

Looks like a good time was had, any demo's on the day ?

Sorry to have missed out but hope to make it to DaveL's later in the year.

Cheers, Paul. :D

From the look of Charley's pics it seems that an excellent day was had by all, hope Dave's is as good in September - Rob

Looks like you all had a very good time and there was some very nice stuff on show. I like Waka's T-shirt :D but couldn't read what was on Philly's. Maybe it will become evident in Dave's pictures.

Cheers

Really gutted i couldn't make it. I dragged into work to deal with problems caused by weather. :(

Hi,

A big thanks from me as well, I had a great time met lots of really nice people, played with some fantastic tools, had some wonderful food and a good laugh, can't wait for the next one.

Pete

P.s. did I have to be in so many of photos, I hadn't done my hair

Steve

It was worth the 7 1/2 hour drive to attend the bash, thanks you to yourself, your good lady and supurb neighbours for putting on an excellent day for us all.

As all have said, it was really nice to put names to faces and the discussion of whether its North, midlands or Black country was very enlightening.
