Did you watch the rest of that guy's videos? I added him to my subscription list ages ago because I love his lateral thinking and unique approach to problem solving. I use a few of his tips in my own work.

If you want a challenge, watch the video where he puts on a dust mask and then try to copy him.

yeh I'm subscribed to him too.

TBH his methods work just fine

No just seen that 1.
Subscription list?? \i didn't know there was such a thing! I love his lateral thinking and problem solving, and its so cheap too..Obv a wee bit dangerous but..

YouTubes subscription facility is absolutely useless. It doesn't update properly when new videos are posted and then a week later you get an email saying there's updates. But it helps you keep tabs on posters who regularly post interesting stuff. I'm surprised they haven't made it more like a newsreader type thing, now that google own it.

Hi Rob,

How're ya diddly doing? I do stop by here quite often but have had very little to say or ask of late. I even sharpen and fettle my tools occasionally but haven't used them in anger very much I must admit.

I was preparing to flatten my coarse water stone this morning and clamped that glass you gave me to my workmate. Usually I clamp it lightly to a single jaw but this morning I wasn't thinking so I clamped it over both jaws and they're slightly out of line. All seemed fine at first but while soaking my coarse water stone in the guest loo (well, the basin in that loo to be precise!) I heard a sharp cracking sound. I checked the front door to see if it was the postie delivering some bits I had ordered but couldn't find anything. Returning to the workmate I found that one side of the glass had cracked. I undid that clamp and went upstairs to search for where I might find a glass cutting tool to rectify the jagged edges that now threatened my morning's stone flattening. While up there I heard another crack. I didn't even bother checking for post this time because I knew that it was the glass cracking yet again.

Strange that I do so much sharpening despite not producing a single project for ages now. Am I setting some kind of record for procrastination and general daftness yet? All I seem to do is cosset my tools. They're living the easy life! I might have to change that soon as I've kind of said to my mum and sister that I might build a box to put my dad's ashes in (they're presently in an airtight, though aesthetically unpleasant, box that is wrapped up so that it looks like a birthday present!). If they expect me to go through with it I'll have my hands full given my non-existent woodworking track record!

Hi Paul, :D

How's your son's commercial flying going? I still have my mind set on getting my private license. Not sure how we got to DH Mosquito's last I posted on here - think it was the glue they used - but my heart is still set on building some kind of aeroplane. Circumstances dictate that it might have to be something radio control for now though

Very well, thanks. He's a First Officer with Ryanair, flying Boeing 737s. He's based in Edinburgh so I don't see so much of him now, but he's doing well. He loves the job so it was worth all the hard work and expense.

Cheers

Thats funny I had to do the exact same job a couple of years back but I didnt clamp the drill I clamped the spindles then I removed the waste on the table saw. They came out perfect, I think I made about 100.
