Tony, don't think sockets in the floor is a good idea. They will be kicked, things dropped on them and the possibility of liquid ingress!! Best to put some up high on joists. I've cut all the cables on my tools down to 6" and put euro sockets on them. Then coil a cable and hang on a hook next to a socket.
