Hi all, just going through my old posts and adding followup - the setup I ended up going with was a Vax Power 7 (2200 watts / 380 Air Watts) for the Hepa filter.
This does a great job of collecting dust from my bandsaw. Really notice the difference when it's not running, even for a few seconds.
On the lathe I don't use any dust collection as it just seems to go everywhere anyway, I just wear a mask and keep the door open for a while, then vac up the next day
I've also just bought a 'dustmite' from ebay, which I'll connect in series... t hasn't arrived yet, but I expect this will reduce the number of times I have to empty the Vax!
