The car has not been in a garage for over 10 years. But even then the workshop could do with a new layout it grown and grown.

The frontage rebuilt, hopefully the fabricated roof arrives today. But...........................watch this space!

An interim report on new roof for my garage/workshop..

The frontage rebuilt with two concrete lintels above door frames only, very expensive, £1400incl vat. I had to accept the price quote owing having to match up for roofing slot by roof contractor. Not a perfect job in my opinion, one lintel laid on a cracked brick at the centre pillar, also frontage not tied to side walls.

The roof was replaced on day arranged and the roofer stated he was surprised the existing roof had not blown away some time in the recent past.
The roof is a fabricated metal and insulated arrangement with five full length pieces which on the whole work but some remedial attention will be needed, (the roofer is coming back Monday).
The main one is the water creep from roof endings at gutter point, see photograph, which will need correcting.
In addition the flashing at one side of roof needs attention, does not fit properly.

So it was a £3000 total expense for a double garage, which could have been more expensive if a different top had been arranged.

You should sleep better once it's finished and you can get your tools back in place. It will give you an opportunity to tidy up or reorganise as well, maybe even make a little bit of something.

Are you going to paint the underside of the roof white?

I think I needed to have had a colour applied before delivery. Some rearrangement to be done but I think my machinery workshop days are numbered most probably will reconsider selling off in the near future.
Purely age related, nothing serious.

Looking good.

Looks like you have gone for the anti condensate coating. Can you let us know how well it works as I have quite a few barns/sheds to re-sheet.
