Hi, am I the oldest new member? Probably at 87. I was not allowed to take my woodwork GCSE exam as I couldn't plane wood flat! When I was about 30 we needed a built-in wardrobe and had seen plans for one and also an advert for a Coronet Minor universal machine that included a 4" planer. There were no safety instructions with it but I managed to learn to use it without any major accidents. Since then I have tried all types of woodwork except carving - I could never get the tools sharp enough. Although my eyesight and energy levels depreciate I try to keep doing a little, mainly scroll sawing or turning. I will post a photo or two in the next few days
