Not wishing to impinge on the RJS appraisal thread any more, here's my finished anti roll type marking knife:

The knife is made from Ebony (which I am a bit unhappy about as I like a bit of grain) and a Stanley knife blade. It's just over 200mm long, fits my hand very comfortably and should not finish up on the workshop floor!.

Very nice, has some similarity in handle style to the Chris Vesper knives.

You said the blade was made from a Stanley knife blade; it may be trick of the photo but it looks thicker than that. What process do you use to turn the stanley blade into what you have shown here?

Ed - yes it is "inspired" by CV and BS knives.

The blade is a standard Stanley one - cut to shape on a grinding wheel (cool type) - held with a pair of pliers! One end ground to a point the other to a "T" to slot into the brass rod. Glued with Araldite.
