Yes,absolutely beautiful 
Nice shape,clean lines,tasteful brassware - all lets the fantastic colour and figuring of the cocobolo shine through.

Thanks for the kind comment guys.
It's a lacquer finish, the hinges are solid brass "pin hinges" from Lee Valley Tools, they are not expensive.

Thats a lovely box Joe. I like Cocobolo.
When I used some Cocobolo on my jewellery box project I found it a beggar to plane. Tear out all over the shop. Grain direction was hard to determine, in places it seemed to be running in both directions.
In the end I had to resort to sanding to get an acceptable finish.
You have done well to make that box so nicely with such a demanding timber. The results are worth it. Well done!

Good looking box here. I've never done anything in cocobolo but understand that it has it's problems, one of which I believe is the dust given off which is supposed to be highly irritant. Not sure if this is correct? - Rob

Rob - I found Coco dust to be absolutely horrible. Sticks to everything, hangs around forever and made me itch terribly. I vowed never to use it again.
I believe Cocobolo is one of those woods which starts allergies to wood - it seems to make you more succeptable. Hate to be able to work other exotics, too.

sensitivity can vary from person to person.
You do want to be careful with Cocobolo, and many other woods.
I always use a dust mask when working woods like Cocobolo that
can sensitize a person.
My dust collection is pretty good also, with one micron pleated filter
on the dust collector.
There was a lot of sanding on this box to get the curved surfaces, but nothing escapes my drum sander dust collection!
Next project?
I went on a shopping trip and got Cocobolo, Wenge, Quilted Makore,
Thuya Burl and some Big Leaf Maple. The guy told me the makore is real bad for reactions so I'll have to be extra careful with it!
The next box is to be big leaf maple, with a Thuya burl top.
Start it this weekend and I'll put some pix up when its complete.
