It does seem rather odd to specify use within a year and then not date it.
I use it and after the disaster Polyvine made UREKA has returned to an older formulation... So far I have found it to be very good... I have made videos on it on my YT channelI have only just seen that Cascamite has a new manufacturer.
Has anyone used the new product?
Problems eliminated?
I have been using Semforite but I can't get used to the grainy texture.
The new Cascamite is by UREKA it clearly shows their logo on the tub... Don't buy Polyvine xxI have. It's rubbish. I wasted a stack of veneer and several hours work. I went back to PVA.
Cascamite is back in the game since Ureka took over... I use it dailyI switched to Aerolite UP4145 One Shot and it’s been very good. Only problem is that the smallest size is 1Kg.
Make sure it's by UREKA which performs like the original Cascamite because Polyvine ruined itI suppose that helps the retailer, otherwise people would choose the one with the longest dates on.
They are not, I have many UREKA glues and so far everything is good... They sent me a a box of glues to test as I made videos about Cascamite and how it went to pot... I am very happy to say it's now back in the game... I bet Ureka has a lot of work to do to win back that reputationI don't believe they are in any way connected, look at their website they have a long list of specialist products. I believe shelf life is a year.
Just for reference, I bought a few kilos of cascamite last August and it very clearly states on the container that it is returned to the original tried and tested formula, and that it is made by Polyvine.I use it and after the disaster Polyvine made UREKA has returned to an older formulation... So far I have found it to be very good.
None of my tubs had a date but they were all bought in July-August 2022, several months before the change of ownershshipThey are not affiliated since 2nd May 2023. It will be interesting to know what the date of manufacture is on your tub?
Haven't had chance to try mine, be good to know your results, I have a major glue up planned with it..did a test piece, seems good, will report back tomorrow.
