Hi
In the next month I want to but a planer - a seperate thicknesser- an exraction system - a pillar drill - a sander -and maybe more :D

I wondered if anyone had ever Negotiated a discount from axminster?

thanks

Mike

Hi Mike

I got quite a good deal on my Jet P/T last year - free delivery and a free set of spare knives. But that was done face to face with the shop staff at Bobbing so it's unclear how you might get on with a phone order. Have been told since though that they don't (generally) do it any more - they apparently got told off my management for making a habit of it. But I'd be surprised if they didn't do something for you on a purchase like you're suggesting, especially if it's all in one go.

In my experience it's always worth asking, especially if you're spending a fair bit of money - the worst that can happen is they can say no (usually very politely in Axminsters case).

Good luck
Mark

Seven years ago I made quite a large purchase from Axminster at their shop( about £3000.00) I asked if a discount was available, the wily salesman said, "sorry sir, no, but I saw you admiring that Lie Nielsen plane".
So I guess the answer is yes, about 5% to me and whatever the plane cost to Axminster.
I was happy and quite impressed by the salesman.

well i'll certainly be looking in my not so local shops but if i do go to axminster i'll give it a go.
I would lurve a nice lie neilsen plane 8)

thanks

I tried on phone and think discount was an alien word.

On the upside, I got Li-ion 12v metabo drill/drive with 2 batts and case for £100 due to a misprice somewhere else.
