I've tried searching previous topics regarding Narex chisel, and have not found anything that talks about their numbering system.

I'm looking to buy a good selection and have been confused by the numbering. Can anyone tell me what is their premium range? I see some chisels are priced the same however they have different handles.

I've spent stupid money on planes but have neglected my chisels (he says looking at the floor in shame). So I'm looking to upgrade to something a little better quality and the Narex range fits the bill. Unless anyone has a better suggestion based around the same chisel cost (or maybe slightly more pricey).

Any advice would be much appreciated

Having done a bit of research into narex and its history from what i've been able to discover, they use the same metal on all their chishels. However the 811x series has an additional coating/plating to give a shinnier finish allong with stained hornbeam handles and electro plated ferrrules. the main differences between the rest of the range is that of the handle style with the 810x range being intended for site/jobbing tradesmen.

The 811x series having shaped hornbeam handle intended for benchwork and use with proper carpenters mallets

Edit
You can get the full dtails of the range here:
