Unless there are some mindreaders out there this thread might not get anywhere.

Some time ago I saw a really strange & complex joint - wrote down the name and put it in a safe place :oops: :oops: :oops: so I could research it and make one up sometime (just for the fun of it).
Anyways the safe place is so safe................................ :oops: :cry:
 
The illustrtation I saw was just a method - I think !!! the joint was mainly used for joining two lengths (rather than corners if you see what I mean).

Might have had a foreign sounding name?

No, but interesting illustration in your link will copy that and have a bash.
Would look good in 3 contrasting woods.
