Myford jointer/planer age

Hi

Purely out of interest, can anyone tell me the age of my new toy.

It's cast iron, with a 3-cutter 5 inch blade. Overall, it's about 3'.

I've not used it yet as I need to build it a bench (the motor mounts remotely), but I'm looking forward to playing.

Am interested to see this. I don't know it's definite age but as a child my dad had it in constant use. I can still hear the noise. That would be around 1968 to 70. There are parts of it still in his workshop, the thicknesses think it is called, and an envelope dated 1973 with details and user instructions. I agree it is a lovely thing. I wish it were still there. Just the paint colour and the Myford wording is lovely. I can post a photo of the part and the leaflet if you might like?

I found 3 new, wrapped up blades for the Myford planer the other day. Would you be able to help me with pricing these things. I saw the thicknesser and bracket without the spring offered for sale on e..y at almost £150. They looked to have sold for £45 in the end. I don’t fancy e..y at all but could offer them here if I had a realistic idea of their value. The papers might be of value too I guess.

Regarding the age, I started my apprenticeship at Myfords in 1972, I've made loads of them, when production stopped I don't know.
