I just googled the problem, posted the first link that seemed to have an accepted answer. I didn't bother to read it.

Now I've read it, it seems there's a lot more to it than meets the eye. Namely MS have blocked the use of it even if you get it back? Not sure, not going to spend too long looking into it. There are people offering solutions but they may or may not work - and they're not as simple as I (and probably Chas) thought it should be either. Or it is and this is a fuss about nothing.

This (link below) appears to be the most long-winded solution to such a tiny problem - the other solutions were find a clone on the MS "Store" and there are lots of people, quite rightly, in a strop about that.

Is there any ?real difference between Windows 7 freecell and freecell included as part of Windows 10 solitaire? Also if you go to the Windows 10 store and search on freecell there are loads of free versions of the game that you can try and see if you can find one thar suits.

The old freecell works fine on windows 10 if you prefer to stick with that version., running on two machines here no problems.

If you have your original old windows disks it will be on them.

John you have mail.

Afternoon DW

I've got Win 7 and Freecell.exe is only 800 odd K. PM me an email address and I'll attach it to an email. Try copying it to a memory stick and see if it works.

I can't find a DLL for Freecell, but it may be hidden.

Your ISP won't accept the files I do have 'cos they are executables, but Shultzy's post above will pobably sort it out without us renaming stuff for transmission.

Thanks Deejay for the message above , will switch over and try Schultz links. (had a look with my desktop W7 and nearly got caught by the windows 10 offer which did not have a X but came out of the link without getting involved, but will get on the wife's laptop and attempt that download.)

Thanks all, nothing easy these days because of Windows 10, I cannot understand what is down the line with Microsoft wanting to push me in.

Adverts?

Can someone not just put a copy of the exe on Dropbox or something? I'll see if it's on one of my virtual machines, although they're all XP.

Morning DW

If you are worried about Windows 10, Gibson Research have a free application called Never 10.

When you run it, it tells you if the upgrade (from 7 or 8.1) is enabled and allows you to disable it. You can re-enable it if you choose.

Free download here ...
