My massive glue up...

So finishing my next project I had to do a massive glue up.

If you can see the rough dark brown bit of roofing lumber near the bottom of the piccie. I had a load of that left over after having a loft converted so I re-sawed it down into 50 slats and made my new desk top which is over 3 metres long.

The whole thing was made from surplus free wood.

Here you see the glue up. It will need a good sanding when done.

That thing ended up being heavier than I thought it would be. LOL.\

That's massive !!! It's gonna swell and shrink quite a bit though....

er... That's a good point which I hadn't thought off. :oops:

I was hoping that the would has been holding my roof up for the last 60 years so would be pretty stable. May not. #-o
 
I think you would have needed far more actual clamps for that job as it may not all stick.

Yeah you may be lucky. Worst case scenario is the mitre comes apart on the corner- time will tell.
