Well at last I am sorted

Have just purchased a used Poolewood / silverdrive Euro 2000 lathe kit

and when I say kit i mean KIT

The deal was as follows :-

When I arrived and was offered a cup of tea , we talked about the lathe and what it does , tea finished I was told

If you buy the lathe you take everything else with it

We then went down to the workshop opend the door and my god it was FULL of EVERYTHING

Chucks , Jaws , screw chucks , face plates , auger , 30 + Henry Taylor , 10 sorby chisels inc 3 beading type chisels , dust extractor system , micro dust extractor , Top quality wet sharpening system , band saw , fret saw , belt sander , stains sealers wax

2 sq meters seasoned hard wood all cut to different sizes lengths and 50 odd bowl blanks Probably enough for a year or two !!!

Pattern set inc 3 different roller ends
Deep hollowing kit

I nearly wet myself when he opened the door

I almost feel guilty buying from him as he said it will break his heart when it goes !!!

He also said as I am a novice if I have any problems and need advice to ring him for advice

As I am sitting here now I keep thinking of other bit inc in the deal like a saw drill kit ?if that's what its called , inlay powders and loads of colours sand paper all grades
All sorts of measuring gauges insid outside thickness etc.

Will update this later and may even post some photos if there is any interest

Will just about fit it all in a Transit van , Now who do I know who owns a Transit ???

I wont sleep tonight

Now that has to be an ultimate result - I suspect you are about to be drowned in a wave of envy!

I wonder how soon before you discover that actually the tool/bit/piece that you really really want to finish the job perfectly isn't there?!

Think of it as an accelerated slide down the slippery slope.

(who me? only marginally envious of course!)

What a result - must be like finding Aladdin's cave :D

Hope you've got somewhere BIG to put it all..

Andrew (also not envious :^o )

Coo. Talk about taking on plenty of ballast for a fast ride down the slope (in turning I imagine the slope goes round and round too, a bit like a helter skelter :D ) Photos would be great.

Cheers, Alf

and i thought i was lucky with finding bargains, in my eyes that is DEFINATELY a result. well done blister. :eek:ccasion4:

Definitly a cast iron gloat which might be just on par with a certain someone's undonatable new saw from across the water (and land). Nice one  - Rob

now thats something that doesnt come around often!!lets just hope he wasnt minding his brothers place while he was on holiday, all the best fella
