Hi Folks
Just thought I'd give you a quick update on my upcoming house move-and it's effect on my workshop and woodworking. We are moving about 2 miles away (it's a school catchment thing, don't ask  ) The new house has a detached double garage that is slightly larger than what I have now (yee-haa!!!) and has some windows (natural light? what's that??), so I'm a happy bunny.
Move date (not fixed at the moment, we are waiting to exchange any minute) will be soon (hopefully, touch wood, cross fingers, etc 8-[ ) probably the next week or two. So I've had to start breaking down the workshop. Sounds easy if you say it fast-just like the mortgage
So here's my "Workshop Move Picture Diary" if you're interested.
Started to pack the hand tools...

Luckily i keep the cartons from most things i buy (nerd-alert! )

The tool racks are nearly empty (sorry Dear, can't do any DIY-I've packed the tools!)

Stay tuned for the next boring insight......

Not boring by any mea..... zzzzzzzzzz

No mate, keep posting - especially at new location

I CANNOT BELIEVE that you kept all the boxes. If I did that, she'd know what I had bought

Hah! Luckily there's a seperate attic in my workshop. Gonna miss that sucka :(
Nerdman

I wish you all the best. I am right in the middle of it myself too. I have to say its not fun, although I am really looking forward to the new house (project).

Good luck!!

Just do not pack all the tools !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need lots of emergency tools to do the quick fix wenn you move out and when you move in.

So keep some important tools at hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought you were looking at farms in Devon - what happened? Or was that just a good excuse to get down to Axminster?

Hope the move goes smoothly.

Cheers

ummmmmm..... aren't ya a wee bit well..... auld... for that....??

not that I'm sayin yer past it or nuffin..... but face it Philly... yer nae spring chicken nae mare.... ;)

You're right, we were looking at farms in Devon. Sadly the Missus got the jitters ("But we'll be so far away from my parents" ). So no mega-workshop for me, no self-sufficiency for her. Can't complain though
Mike
Me, old? :? Eh, umm, ooh. Never! :^o
I'm a wee spring chicken, and no doubts!
Philly

Philly, hope it all goes well. Have you told the removers how heavy that table saw is?

Thanks, Folks!
Andy, I'm having a seperate van for my workshop-and moving that myself. Not that I don't trust professional removal men.....
Martin
Get out more??? Do you know of any other woodworking shows, then?
Cheers

I hope this move is not going to interfer with the Yandles weekend?

Good luck with the move and if you need me to look after any tools just pop them along.

Good luck with the move......thats if you havent already moved that is. double garages are a good size....particularly if you block up the big doors and just use a small door....it'll surprise you the difference it makes....unless you want to keep your car in there

did you ever get your bigger bandsaw

Ian

Waka
Yeah, I'll just drop my tools round to your place. :^o
Like I wasn't waiting for that one

Ian
Car in a garage??? Wash your mouth out!
Still not moved, another problem has arisen further down the chain. Needless to say, I am in limbo (as is the workshop).
To cheer me up I have just ordered a bandsaw-finally settled on one from Axminsters Plus range. Not Italian but have had a play with it-very impressive for the price. Report to follow
Cheers
A Frustrated Philly :D
