Finished my project for the day (in the end it took me two days ;D), a project I have been puting off for about a year now, but it got done, and this is definately the last time I build my own doors

The reason I had to change the doors was due to the fact they weren't external doors and the laminate was coming off (I bought them as they told me they were external doors, so i got my money back, but now I had to do the job twice )

I made the doors last year, but could find the time to fit them, or in short, i just didn't feel like it

But with this bank holiday weekend, it just had to be done

This is what it looked like

Here are the doors build and rebated for the glas, I made them overlay doors, and also rebated in the door frame to get complete draft exclusion

I whilst i fit them, my wife gives them a quick paint, so we can put the glass in them

So glass is fitted, but it is to dark now to make pictures, i will show you tomorrowe the before and after pics

Thanks for looking
Chris

Already a big improvement, will look forward to pictures of the finished article :D

Very nice McLuma. I have a strange desire to build a door.

Don't do it, just buy them, so much work doing doors, In this case it four, i hate repetitive work

And that glas is also very expensive

Wow, I've never heard of an external laminated door before either - glad to hear you got your money back! You must be very happy with the end results as well. :)

I've contemplated replacing all our cheap and nasty hollow interior doors with ones from solid pine with raised and fielded panels, all made by myself. But yes, I agree, the thought of doing all that repetitive over and over, plus the fact that in my single-car garage, amongst all my other kit, I'll barely have the space to assemble a full-size door!

I'm still content on making a new back door at some point - anyone seen the one in the latest issue of Good Wood? That's kind of what I'm after.
